01. The Theme of O Canada
Origin: O Canada / Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu
Transcribed by: Unknown ( https://www.khinsider.com/midi/snes/fire-emblem-4-japan- )
Modified by: Fatih
Note: So begins another journey into the great unknown. I personally don't feel
like people particularly talk about the melody of the Fire Emblem anthem.
Given that the story takes place in Canada, it was only natural that I would
blend one of the most iconic renditions with the anthem of Canada itself...
It's confusing what you're fighting for, but at least it feels patriotic(?)

02. 043-Positive01
Origin: Unknown Artist - RPG Maker XP
Note: For being known as the scapegoat for being called a lowly application by a fair
share of people, it really was a fun program. The music that came along with it was
underestimated as well, and I have truthfully considered using XP tracks more. However,
this is technically against their terms of use - then again, you're playing a ROM
hack, so... And who will really bother with a 2006 program?

03. 052-Negative01
Origin: Unknown Artist - RPG Maker XP
Note: I was unsure what to put for the opening event. Having it set to a very short
loop like the others felt wrong when it was a chaotic cutscene that didn't involve a
generic baddie boasting. I was going to use a track from MOTHER 3, but the files I
were given did not import well at all, so I went with an arbitrary track from my
RPGXP folder. There seems to really be no bad choice with RPG Maker XP, hence my
fondness for it. It's unfortunate that it only plays once here, however. (It was last minute)

04. Confrontation
Origin: Minako Adachi - Yggdra Union
Note: Yggdra Union was a very odd game in that it had some very short BGM loops involved.
However, this usually proved that even a short loop could still be very listenable...
under certain circumstances. I couldn't help but somehow use a few tracks, and I
don't remember the reason. I tried to keep them sparse as best I could.
Was Sting just running out of a budget?...

05. Wind Across the Plains
Origin: Intelligent Systems - Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
Modified by: Fatih
Note: You know what this is. I had stumbled upon a concert recording based on Fire Emblem tracks,
and fell in love with the arrangement of this song. I tried adding a bit of subtle embellishments
to the track without trying to stray too far off, and this is the result. At first I had attempted
this with failure due to trying to add too much, but I realized this was a simple song, and as
such simple seasonings were all I needed. This song reminds me of the mountains.

06. Inspector's Ambush
Original Title: Ambush
Origin: Final Fantasy 9
Transcribed by:
Note: Inspector uses a chain whip sort of thing disguised as a cane, canonically. Classy.
Regardless, one should always keep a professional composure on the job!
Otherwise, no one at all will take you seriously. Do you take this hack seriously?
I don't even know if I did, myself. Maybe you should always act like someone's watching.

=======================================
07. A Deadly Swordfight!
Origin: Summon Night: Swordcraft Story
Note: I've always wondered - how well would people *actually* fare when needing to
pick up a weapon and just go out fighting? There's always the analogy of villagers
getting out pitchforks, but despite this being the norm for most of this story, I
sure wonder just how many of us could swing an axe around for the first time.
Probably none.

08. Union Formation
Origin: Minako Adachi - Yggdra Union
Note: It's a very short track as usual, but I suppose it fits regardless since you're
going to be jumping back and forth between the action anyway... Save for if you're not
paying attention. As dumb as Coffee is, they seem to at least have some form of
decision-making skills(?). Just be sure to keep your other friends away from them.
They seem to like to pick on the others more than Inspector.

09. Rosary Sortie!
Origin: Minako Adachi - Yggdra Union
Note: You may or may not have noticed that much of the battle tracks have been sped up
from their original counterparts. Encounters are rather short in general, so I thought
that more of the song(s) should be heard in battle. It might also, well, make things
feel more pumped up. I un-did this for the Soundtrack, given that the speed can be
overwhelming outside of the game at times. At least, I hope the battles aren't.

10. Third Gear!!
Origin: Game Freak - Drill Dozer
Note: I've always loved the victory that's associated with this song. It feels like
you're an unstoppable force that can rend the heavens... or something like that. Hopefully
this feeling is replicated, though here it's a bit more mellow in feel.
I was going to make it more like the original, but it was gonna be a lot of work.
I wonder when they'll take a break from Pokemon and make a successor to Drill Dozer, though.
I sort of miss games with controller vibration.

=======================================
11. I Must Not Lose the Battle!
Origin: Summon Night: Swordcraft Story
Note: A decisive encounter - while there isn't much to hold back for against Coffee,
beating up all these people feels quite wasteful. That, and despite everything, both
sides are fated to battle with all their might. It's likely not that deep of a thought
at all. Either way, there's a sense of duty and dread coming from this song, I feel.
Besides, if you can't clear this momentary task, where does that leave the rest?

12. Gentle Breeze
Origin:
Note:

=======================================
13. Forceful Step
Origin: raito - Under Night In-Birth
Note: New gatherings through common avenues should always be happy. Especially if an
enemy of an enemy is your friend, or you found a friend of a friend of a friend...

02. Kai's Theme
Origin: Unknown Artist - 100% Orange Juice
Transcribed by: Pikmin1211
Note: When I first found out that the guys behind 100OJ and 200MJ used royalty-free
tracks, I was a bit shocked and a little bit hurt, somehow. But then I realized that
it didn't matter - after all, the games fooled me into thinking the music fit right in.
The piece in this game has a completely different feel to it. As if it's more fantastical.
In a way, it feels much more serious than the original counterpart, but is still relaxed.

Dancing Mad
Origin: Nobuo Uematsu - Final Fantasy 6
Transcribed by: ShinKuma
Note: If you couldn't tell, Inspector very much likes the Final Fantasy series.
It wouldn't be a lie to say that Uematsu is an inspiration to him. As for me, I still
haven't been able to get into those games. This project has had my hands quite full...
No one can deny the talent that Uematsu has, however. He composed for a mobile game called
Terra Battle. The tavern theme is very memorable to this day. As for Dancing Mad,
however, it's sure to leave you certain that you're dealing with memorable madness.

21st Century Schizoid Man
Origin: King Crimson - In the Court of King Crimson
Transcribed by: Unknown - ( https://bitmidi.com/21st-century-schizoid-man-mid )
Note: When I wanted Ersatz to be revealed, I especially wanted him to feel mysterious yet
powerful, as if it was uncertain what he would do at any second. But I also wanted something
that didn't make him seem that he would allow himself to hold back. I typically don't listen
to rock, so it was through a meme video that inspired me to use this theme. I feel like it fit
the scenario perfectly. Or maybe it's too cocky to say I felt chills.

Golden Hymn ~ Ibis Trismegestius
Origin: Wanwan - Touhou Shinjutou ~ Hollow Song of Birds
Transcribed by: ShinkoNetCavy
Note: I wasn't entirely sure why I chose this song. I do certainly admit it was part of the fact
that I immediately fell in love in this game and appreciated everything about Horou, but I think
the desperation she faced was a little similar to the current cast's. After all, they are all
fighting to return back to the outside world safe and sound. I feel a bit ashamed to use such an
uplifting song in a hopeless fight... But I suppose it's perfect for humanity.
Even if there's no point, don't go down without exhibiting the brilliance of your fighting spirit.

Master of Disguise -Again-
Origin: Kenji Hikata - Wario: Master of Disguise
Imported by: Tambo
Note: This seems to be "the" showdown theme of The House, since it plays a lot in hacks that
feature them. I decided to go and rip it without asking as a sort of surprise. The only difference
is that I made it much shorter and looped the introduction, only because I personally feel that
nothing else belongs as a battle theme. It must quite be a surprising song indeed - it sounds like
punishment.

My Comrade
Origin: Tenpei Sato - Disgaea
Note: Surprisingly, it took me a while before I would decide to put in a WAV that was full-length.
I have been made fun of for using them like this, but I try to stay strategic with my choices. I
sort of have the room for doing silly things like these since I do my best to conserve data. Has
my reputation as the "WAV guy" declined? Perhaps this hack will turn it around. Or maybe the next.
Tenpei Sato is a very corny man. But he has guts to sing over his own music.
He never lets Nippon Ichi down, I feel. I don't know where it would be without him.

Tranquility
Origin: Shinji Hosoe - Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors
Modified by: Fatih
Note: I needed a quick addition "chill" track. Every time I go back to 999 I remember how great
its tracks are each time. I had to do quite a bit of manual work on this one, however. It sounds
different from the original in some ways, but I like the way it pops in FE8. I'm worried it sounds
too relaxed for some of the scenes. Even so, you shouldn't panic. Coffee didn't develop bangles yet.

The Milanor Thieves Advance
Origin: Minako Adachi - Yggdra Union
Note: For being literal thieves, they sure have a knightly theme. I immediately knew that I eventually
wanted to add a Yggdra song - after all, it has a similar premise in gameplay, but it's also the
music that manages to fit well. Maybe that's just all the Sting games having some good tracks, albeit
being short and leaving you wanting more. I guess it could work here, since Milanor is, well... You know.

Endless Battle
Origin: Intelligent Systems - Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem
Note: It really does seem that the DS Fire Emblem games have incredible music. I would often listen to
Shadow Dragon's title theme for so long. Just how does it sound so high-quality?... To be honest, I've
finally gotten a little sick of this song. Perhaps it was because I've also heard it enough times in
Void's Blitzarre Adventure. Perhaps that's why it has that name.

Nightmare Diary
Origin: ZUN - Touhou Hifuu Nightmare Diary - Violet Detector
Transcribed by: ShinkoNetCavy
Note: I really tried to not add a Touhou song. I truly did. I thought my hack was not worthy of such
strength. But then I realized that I needed something that was reeking of distaste, and RPG XP songs
just weren't going to cut it. I didn't know much at all about Violet Detector when I found this song,
but to me it fit the theme of the chapter perfectly. After all, the events do feel like a nightmare.
The true nightmare was not knowing that I would add additional Touhou tracks later on...

Blood Drain
Origin: Raito - Melty Blood Actress Again
Transcribed by: Unknown
Note: I have been addicted to Blood Drain for some time now. Sometimes I even wish I were a vampire now.
(just kidding) I'm not sure when I first decided that I would make it closely related to the game, but
I suppose it had too much of a drunkening influence on me. Oh, but if you've heard this song, congrats.
I had to work a bit to get this song sounding right. There were issues with some pitches, but it came
out rather fine. My only regret is being unable to give the player's units vamp-like movement for a time.

Overdrive
Origin: Taku Iwasaki - JoJo's Bizzare Adventure: Battle Tendency (David Production)
Note: I forgot the exact reasoning for this loop appearing. Oh, right, Tambo. I suppose I have nothing much
to say about this one other than that there's a clear amount of references to this franchise in this hack.
On that note, I'll say that I surprisinly don't mind raw brussel sprouts, but for some reason I cannot stand
the thought of eating stewed cabbages - it's very difficult for me to do.

All You Have to Do is Practice!
Origin: Minako Adachi - Riviera: The Promised Land (GBA)
Note: I added this song very early on when I had planned on making the Valni Tower completely unbeatable.
Clearly, this hack has changed a lot since then. For how long you had to practice to increase your stats
in Riviera, though, the song sort of got repetitive - again, fault of the short-ish loops. Nonetheless, this
game had some really cool UI decisions, as mechanically strange as they could get. It's a sort of style
that's very difficult to replicate.

The More That I Try
MaikelChan
Origin: Motoi Sakuraba - Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
Note: Nobody seems to really like this game apart from me. At least, it's been a while, but Sakuraba really
seemed to outdo himself with the soundtrack, improving on past songs featured in the original game. To be
fair, I have never played too far into Tales of Symphonia 1, but I feel like people are blinded by nostalgia
and didn't take a proper look at the game. It was very likely not the best JRPG in the world, but to me it
has been more memorable than most games that were out on the Wii at the time.

Union Formation
Origin: Minako Adachi - Yggdra Union
Note: This song feels a bit like a preperation theme - after all, it was used to determine battles. Perhaps
as soon as you're hitting "Wait" or "End" for your turn, that's a sign of getting ready for the enemy to
strike. I feel like it fit very well for the purposes of this game.
I sort of hope someone modifies FE8 to include positional-based stats and group attacks outside of
SkillSystem... That would be very cool.

Battle A1
Origin: Atlus - Shin Megami Tensei IV
Transcribed by: Dfarrellmusic
Note: Hearing this song for the first time was very strange - it sort of drilled the belief of "you don't
know what you're getting into" for me. Then, I learned to embrace the unknown.
Theatrics aside, this is exile's battle theme, since he loves the Megami Tensei franchise so much. I was
very lucky to find it transcribed.
Sometimes I thought about giving him the summon ability. However, it's way too late for that since I'm
writing all this. Now I guess I feel bad, since it'd fit him so very well...

Interminable Dilemma
Origin: Shinji Hosoe - Zero Time Dilemma
Transcribed by: Zeila
Note: I don't think I ever expected to make so much dialogue happen, let alone in an entire chapter.
I suppose that's what it takes when I tend to like making sure things are explained to the fullest.
However, that only blurs the lines that surround Ersatz's so-called evils.
Ersatz is a tragic character, but I didn't consider how important he was until I was writing him.
His history aligned with another's, and even I felt that I had forgotten Ersatz, like the rest of
humanity. At least now I'm certain that he will not be one-and-done to me.
I'll probably re-design Ersatz so that he is actually original in appearance and draw him.

Battle the First / (Battle I)
Origin: Yasunori Nishiki - Octopath Traveller
Transcribed by: Atheos1348
Note: This game was incredible to me as soon as I got far enough into the demo when it was called
"Project Octopath Traveller". I was actually going to make a short one-chapter hack way back when involving
Olberic and the brigands. I decided to not finish it. I think Decisive Battle I is underrated, but unfortunately
the best part to me feels rather short-lived. If you ask me, however, I felt that I personally hyped the
game up too much... Not to say that it is bad, but I haven't finished it. I had thought the stories would
be more intertwined. I should get back to finishing it regardless.
Release Note: I didn't like the game.
